Disappearing items.

I downloaded the game from a link that Tarac very kindly sent me. The game works great but I am finding that when I’m finished playing, save game as normal, when I go back on to play some of my household items are missing, eg the cooker or sofa will have just disappeared and I know I haven’t deleted it by mistake. Does anybody know what’s causing this? Thanks in advance.

Are these regular items or downloaded as CC ?
What version are you currently on ? The latest version is 1.39.74.1020

Can you also try renaming or deleting the "Game"-folder inside your installation of TS4? Re-download a fresh one here:

And put it in the right place. Then try the game (your household) again. Someone else had a similar issue, and I'm not yet sure what exactly is happening. Could be another file permission error...

I haven’t downloaded any items, I installed the game just this week so I’m assuming it’s the most up to date version. I renamed the game folder which seems to have done the trick for now at least, I can’t see any other items disappearing. I was also having issues such as sims freezing when learning skills eg increasing charisma in the mirror etc they’d just stop. And sometimes their clothing items would change colour. This is still happening, my sims will freeze mid action and not follow other commands

And try applying this to your The Sims 4 installation. It was originally written for The Sims 3, but you can apply it in the same fashion. For now please apply this on the subfolders Bin -> Game -> The Sims 4. If you want, also Program files (x86) at the end.

From there, play on, and see if you encounter any such issues again. It's just speculation from my part, about what could cause the issue, and doing the procedure won't hurt either way. Good luck!

Will this delete the saved games I have? There are other little glitches such as not able to add candles to Birthday cakes & not able to ‘clean up’ plates as it says there’s no bin/sink/dishwasher (there is). I have to drag the items across instead. Wondering if it’s all part of the same problem. Will try what you suggested above.

A new installation will not have influence on your saved games as these are in separate directories.
