The Sims 4 cannot load?

My game was completely fine, but today I decided I wanted to get download a new house from TSR. So, I did so and extracted it to my tray folder and opened up the game and I keep getting "Windows has shut this down etc" "The Sims 4 has stopped working" so I thought it must've been old cc, so I used the mod conflict detector to see and I took some pieces out. Loaded up the game, had the same problem. I then emptied my Mods folder out and still had the same problem. I took out all my recent tray files (I assumed the problem was the tray file I downloaded today idk) still had the same problem. I even downloaded My First Pet Stuff (I was up to Jungle Adventure) considering that maybe if I got a new Game folder, it woul work. but I was wrong, I still had the same problem. I'm lost guys! 

Try a new The Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts.
Call the present one The Sims 4_old and start your game.
A new The Sims 4 folder will be created with a completely new game.

When that works fine you can start copying elements from The Sims 4_old to the new folder.
