Repairing The Sims 4?
Howdy all! So, I've had the game since pretty much forever, but hadn't been playing recently until I heard seasons was coming out. I would really like to do a legacy challenge and have my sim live in a tent with his only means of cooking a campfire, but wouldn't you know it, campfires have been broken in my game for a while. I was hoping that when pets came out, the issue would get fixed, (and then with pet stuff too) but no luck. Also, the planter boxes that came with Outdoor Retreat are in a constant burnt state, I think since parenthood. (My game is completely up to date with all expansions/stuff packs, etc.)
So I went in search for answers and found that other people have had the same problems as me and that they repaired the game through Origin to fix it. I don't have Origin (I was always afraid to download it thinking it would mess up my game). So...is it safe? Can I download Origin and use it to repair my game? Is there a different way to repair my game? Am I stuck with a campfire that is mostly for decorative purposes only?! Will my sims never know the joy of roasting a fish over an open fire?! Also, if I can use Origin to repair my game, where do I download it at? I know when installing the game it gives you the option to install Origin as well, but I would really hate to reinstall everything just to get it.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Repairing The Sims 4?
When you have all DLC's legally, you can use Origin to repair the game.
When you also have pirated DLC's, don't use Origin but use ZLOrigin instead.
See THIS TOPIC.

You can try repairing your game through ZLOrigin, yes, but what you described sounds more like bugs that will need to be addressed by future official patches. It's worth trying for sure, but note that the "repair fix" is mostly intended for cases where the game is broken such, that it e.g. can't start.

Re: Repairing The Sims 4?
Well, I ran into an issue. I'm at the point in the instructions where it tells me to change the directory from program files (86) origin games to just program files(86) in the advanced settings of ZLOrigin. When I try to do this, it tells me that it is an invalid directory and changes it back to default. I have followed all the instructions up to this point, and am unsure of how to continue. Did I do something wrong? Or is there a work around that I don't know about?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: Repairing The Sims 4?
That's what I meant . I just didn't include the x in my previous post. It is the folder that my Sims 4 game folder is in - Program Files (x86). When I try to change the directory to this, it tells me it is an invalid directory. I can change it to Program Files (x86)/The Sims 4 (or any other folder inside Program Files (x86) but not just Program Files (x86). I hope that makes sense
