Sims 4 crashing and closing before even loading the home screen, no error message

I'm not sure what's going on with my game at this point. I've been trying to solve this on my own for days with no luck. I've looked through the forum for an answer already and couldn't find what I needed (although I may have missed something), and I've also done every fix in this list (linked below) that I could, only excluding the ones meant for windows 8 and under, and 32 bit windows systems.

I followed the instructions on the installation of the game to an exact, so I'm not sure why this is happening. I'm on windows 10 with a 64 bit operating system, and my The Sims 4 folder is currently located in "This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files". I have no mods, no custom content, and I've downloaded all of the DLC/Expansions listed in the instructions. I also have 4 GB of RAM, and it says that 3.89 GB of that is usable, if that information is needed.

For a bit of extra information on what exactly is happening to my game, I click "TS4_x64" and run as administrator just in case it says it doesn't have admin permission, and my game starts to open, shows the EA symbol pop up as it's loading, sometimes shows the Maxis symbol although it doesn't even make it there sometimes, then my cursor has a loading symbol beside it before the game closes itself with no kind of error message popping up afterwards.

I'm not very knowledgeable in the realm of torrents, so it's very possible I messed something up along the way and just didn't notice, but I'm really hoping someone can help me fix this issue without me having to delete and re-download everything as it took at least 2 days just to get all the files where they're supposed to be (my internet isn't the greatest, and all of the devices that I own seem to be very slow all the time, including my PC). If I have to re-download everything I'll do it of course, it'll just be a bit annoying, though obviously worth it in the end when I get to play.

If extra information is needed to help me figure this out, please ask for it and I will give that information in as clear of details as I can. I'm super thankful that such a wide range of helpful information was here in the first place, even if it didn't fix my issue. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop. This will start the game fresh, you can move saves back later. If that doesn't solve the problem, run the validator (in quick scan mode) and post the result here.

Well, moving it to desktop didn't work unfortunately.
I tried to use the validator in quick scan on my The Sims 4 folder in Program Files, and it said "could not detect game version, wrong directory selected". I tried the The Sims 4 folder that's now in Desktop, the Game folder, the Bin folder, and all gave the same message, so I'm not sure if I picked the wrong folder or if it's because one of the fixes that I had to do before all the sudden game-closing happened was deleting the file for the game version.

That guide is quite old. I'd recommend just updating your game. You said you have all DLCs so just apply the latest update: https://www.games4theworld.club/t34601-the-sims-4-update-version-1-48-94-1020-out-now

And then run the validator.

@elfyraloey you can't skip DLCs when using G4TW releases. You have Get To Work but you're missing updates for it (files from "Delta" folder). Didn't check other DLCs but it's probably the same. The easiest solution is to update your game with patch from my repack. Download setup, patch and no-origin-fix files, install it to the same directory where your game is.

Or you can download G4TW releases for missing DLCs and install them in correct order.

Oh, and delete "Game_" folder, you don't need it.

I already delete my previous game, now i reinstall the base game. If i use the installer does i have to download patch?

Base game from G4TW? Do you want to install DLCs too? Do you want to use mods? Tell me what exactly you have (what releases you downloaded) and what you want to have and I'll tell you what to download/install.

Did you move The Sims 4 folder from Documents\Electronic Arts to desktop? If that doesn't help, run validator again, this time in normal mode.

Hi!

I have the exact same issue.

I've tried to fix it by;
- Reinstalling all of the DLC's in C:\Program Files\ instead of D:\Program
- Applied the fixed Game folder to my C:\Program Files\The Sims 4
- Removed The Sims 4 folder from ...\Documents\Electronic Arts
- Run validator;

As in my previous post. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop. This will start the game fresh, you can move saves back later. If that doesn't solve the problem, run the validator again, this time in normal mode.

As I stated in my post I have already tried moving the folder for a fresh start. Both before and after reinstalling the entire game.

I did run the Validator in normal mode.

Maybe you did, but you didn't post the result here. The one you posted is from quick scan, "--- quick scan ---" under "hash mismatch" proves it.

One more thing to try:
Open Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Options.ini and change values of:
resolutionwidth to 800
resolutionheight to 600
fullscreen to 0

Changed the values in Options.ini and the game reacts the exact same way, both with TS4.exe and TS4_x64.exe (only difference is of course that it's in an 800x600 window)

The validator is still hashing Smile

Let's hope it's problem with your installation folder. Because if validator shows nothing wrong and starting the game fresh with resolution changed doesn't work then I have no idea what else to suggest.

Aaw, yeah, i have to hope that too then.. but I got the exact same issue on both installations, that's the weirdest thing. Both installations worked before "Get Famous" and then I got this issue after applying it and the update. (had some minor errors before that which I fixed with the "normal" fixes on the first installation, but nothing like that on the second. )

Validator gave me an error half-way through, running it again Sad

I'm fine with downloading anything - was in a Sims playing mood when this started so I just really wanna make it work. Can I reinstall the entire game with your repack?

Sure, but there's no need to. Your base game and DLCs files are okay, it's just the updates that were wrong. If you want to play ASAP, download just the setup, patch and no-origin-fix from my repack. Wink
