Sims 3 Generations and Pets Installation Problems

Ive seperatley downlaoded both sims 3 generations and sims 3 pets to add onto my sims 3 base game. once they have downloaded and i try to click 'Sims3EP04Setup.exe' it comes up with this error: setupnew\setup.cpp(140)PAPP:PVENDOR:PGUID:$15.0.0.498@WindowsXPService Pack 3(2600)IE version: 8.0.6001.18702

im not sure 
i dont even know what that means sorry. i bought my sims 3 base. then tried to download both generations and pets seperatley using utorrent. both of their types are 'IZArc RAR Archive' if thats any help?

Hello,
Looks like rar. What you need is winRAR. Once you have winrar, you can rightclick these archives and choose open with..., use winRAR and extract them to your desktop and then you can start installing them.
