Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully: setup cannot continue (5100). [SOLVED]
Hi guys,
So, I've been here before to request help with the OrangeEmu thing (under a different account, I forgot my username/password). That was a few months ago now, and you guys helped me figure it all out. I had to install an older version of The Sims 4, which I was cool with. Anyway, I stopped playing The Sims for a while and now I've got that itch to play again, but there was something wrong with my game that I couldn't fix, so I uninstalled it earlier. I've re-installed it, but when I get to the language selector and try to apply "English", the error from this topic's title pops up. All my vc files are there, and should be working. Any ideas?

But why? Isn't it in English already?
I believe you're using EaSetup.exe, I found it in one download too. It runs the installation script, which adds all registry entries like for legit game and installs redist. If you get that error, try uninstalling VC redist first - 2010 and 2013, both 32- and 64-bit.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. Um, my version is cracked, so could that be why? Should I still try uninstalling VC redist?anadius wrote:But why? Isn't it in English already?

Alright, just did that, and afterwards when I tried to open Sims 4 an error came up saying MSVCR100.dll was not found. So I reinstalled the vc's, but now when I try to open Sims 4 nothing happens at all. It loads for a moment, but then nothing happens.anadius wrote:No. Yes.

Actually, sorry, scratch what I just said. The MSVCR100.dll not found error keeps popping up, despite me reinstalling the vc's.

Oh, I just noticed something else, the error is no long MSVCR100.dll, it's MSVCP100.dll

Doesn't matter, still VC related.
Install those:
__Installer\vc\vc2010sp1\redist\vcredist_x86.exe
__Installer\vc\vc2010sp1\redist\vcredist_x64.exe
__Installer\vc\vc2013\redist\vcredist_x86.exe
__Installer\vc\vc2013\redist\vcredist_x64.exe
If there are any error messages, post them here.

Are they different from the ones you get on the microsoft website? Because if not, I already have themanadius wrote:Doesn't matter, still VC related.

So, I've been playing around with everything. Realized I hadn't copied the cracked files to the game. So, I did that, wasn't working. Uninstalled the game thinking I may have set it up stupidly. Re-installed, then at the end of the reinstall it asked me I wanted to open EAsetup.exe, I assumed that was a bad idea so I didn't. Re-added cracked files to the folder. But now I get this message popping up after trying to run as administrator. Sometimes I get another message pop up too, usually if I don't run as admin, but it's not coming up now for some reason.

From your screenshot I can already see your folder organization is messed up, and quite badly. For example, why do you have a folder structure consisting of "The Sims 4", and another subfolder "The Sims 4" within it. There is no way your game is going to work like that.
Can you first of all copy these 5 files from your current screenshot, to the desktop somewhere.
Then move out the secondary layer of "The Sims 4", for a lack of a better description so go under C:\Program Files\The Sims 4. Inside that folder there is another folder "The Sims 4", please move it out temporarily. Though I'm not sure if you installed the game correctly in the first place, so that advice may be flawed.
You'll then hopefully end up with a folder structure C:\Program Files\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. Copy and paste the five crack-files that you backed up on the desktop previously, under your Bin-folder now. Replace existing files when prompted.
My own folder structure inside the "Bin" folder looks like this.

Very neat.
Always remember with these DRM-free (= usually, but not necessarily, cracked) games that repackers usually provide the modified files somewhere separately, often in a folder named "Crack". Unless you know better, it's best to copy/paste these files directly, rather than taking the folder itself.
