Transferring the sims 4 and sims 3 file into external hard drive

Hi,
I would like to ask how do i transfer the installation files from program x86 and files from documents into external hard drive? I am currently using MacBook Air and wanting to run my sims on virtual machine but i tried to copy all the files from my previous laptop (dell) and into my hard drive and it cant be played. Please help me. thank you so much. :$
