The Sims 2 Complete Collection - lots of problems during the installation.

Hello all, I tried installing the sims 2 complete collection from this site. I read everything, followed all the steps. Sadly I am not able to install a few packs. These are the errors I get during the installation of certain packs (note that my game is in polish, that's why the errors may be a little off, I just translated them):

1. There was a problem while patching, installation will be terminated:
 - University

2. The sims 2 wasn't installed properly or at all:
- H&M
- Bon Voyage
- IKEA
- Bath and Kitchen
- Free Time
- Apartment life
- Teen Style
- Mansion and Gardens

3. No free disk space, needs at least 200MB (which is bs, since I got about 200GB free disk space left):
- Happy Holiday

Which means these are the packs I managed to succesfully install: Double Deluxe (means I DO HAVE THE BASE GAME), Open for business, Pets, Seasons, Family fun & Glamurous life.

Also I patched every pack that I managed to install, if that was possible. For example, Seasons. (From the #Patch folder).

Another thing that may be important, I got my games installed on the D disk, since I got little space left on C. My path looks like this: D:\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\PACK NAME
I don't know if this is causing any problem? Anyways, I tried just skipping problematic packs while installing everything and going back to them after everything else is installed (I followed the order as said in the Installation Guide). Sadly, after installing everything else these packs still don't want to install. 

Help would be very appreciated.

Hello,

I'm assuming you used WinRAR for extracting the contents of the .rar archive. And you get the error about "low disk space" because your temp-files archive is bloated up. Here's how you can try to remedy this part of the problem.

Go under C:\Users\(your Windows name)\AppData\Local\Temp\ and EMPTY the contents of the "Temp"-folder.

With that out of the way, and if you still can't install these items, the best advice I can offer is to try re-downloading with a different client than the one you used initially. This torrent of TS2 with the individual installers has plenty of seeds, though I admit this still may not sound like a comfortable solution if you have a slower internet.

Don't use Vuze or uTorrent (anymore) for downloading stuff. Better clients are qBittorrent, Tixati, Transmission, etc...

I actually don't know if the installation on D: might cause issues, but feel free to try it with the newly-downloaded version. Sorry I can't help more here, but feel free to keep us posted.

On second though, the original folder structure of the download looks like this here:

C:\EA GAMES\(Sims 2 Pack Name).

So maybe you should try adopting the same when installing on D: drive. If the installer does not create the folder structure on its own, then you have to try creating the folders manually before running the installers. I remember this used to be a huge problem with TS3, but not sure if it's the case with TS2.

Hey, I finally managed to get this working. Thanks ghostman for your help. 

So basically all I did, and I don't know if that was the solution or just pure coincidence, but all I did was this:

I didn't re-download the whole game again, first I thought I'd try with what I already have (and yep, it was downloaded with Vuze). I deleted everything, including all the folders and entries and what-not. Then I emptied the Temp folder as suggested by ghostman above. After that I just started installing everything again, and that went without any complications at all. Also this time I installed it again on disk D, but under EA GAMES (I still don't know if that is of any importance though, but I did anyways). 

So that's all, thank you again ghostman and I hope this may help someone with same problem as me.
