Transfer Sims 4 to another computer.

Just got a new laptop,
is there a way to transfer the sims 4/ expansion packs/ mods/ trays etc


or do I have to do a full fresh install of everything

I ask because it usually takes me half a day to download/ install everything

Hello and welcome to the G4TW Forums @rubyisthebest1234,

You merely have to transfer your The Sims 4 installation folder (currently ca. 35 GB in size with all DLCs and updates), to the new computer. First put it on an external hard-drive or something, and then transfer it. Doesn't really matter where on the new computer you put that installation.

You'll also need to back up your mods/saves separately, and transfer them onto the new computer. They can be found under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. You must re-insert that particular folder, in the corresponding location on the new computer as well. So on the new computer, put that under your Documents\Electronic Arts folder as well.

And - because I anticipate you'll ask - you will have to create the "Electronic Arts"-folder manually on the new computer, probably.
