Sims 4 torrent issues.

Did a forum search, google isn't helping. Had up to RoM installed on my laptop, transferred all the files to my new desktop. Long story short, had to do a fresh install and realized I'm missing packs. Everything will download and seed fine in bittorrent but when I try to open it I get: 

Unable to load "file name.7z": unknown error!

My desktop is a custom build so it's possible I'm missing a program. It's just as likely I've forgotten how to use computers, idk. tia.

You mentioned you had all stuff up to Realm of Magic installed. May I ask which DLC exactly you are missing?

I definitely have up to seasons and parenthood, and probably following updates, whichever came last

Can I propose, that you familiarize yourself with the new format of TS4 repacks?

It's basically 1 update patch + anadius's DLC toggler + whatever DLC you like.

The Global Patch brings your game patch-wise to the latest available version. If you then put anadius's dlc-toggler into your TS4 installation folder, as per the instructions on that thread, you can add individual DLC-folders at your leisure.

You also have to use the dlc-toggler to activate your DLC.




If you don't want to resort to that, you can try loading up the torrent-folder with all DLCs on that other thread. You said on your previous built the latest DLC was Realm of Magic. That means you have to grab Get Famous, Strangerville, Island Living, Moschino Stuff, and I guess Realm of Magic itself. Assuming your latest DLC is Seasons. Again, I'm not sure what exactly you are missing, feel free to check the main menu of your Sims 4 game to look for greyed-out icons though.

I'll give it a shot this weekend! I haven't tried to open my saves yet because I knew I was missing packs.
I was keeping a just in case copy of the install files on my external but it seems a few folders, like island living were cut instead of copied.

Hope the new format opens for me, because I will be back trying to figure out what my computer is missing again. Thank you ~

Yes, since it seems a while since you last grabbed an update, the new format will be most optimal for you to apply, since you then can add DLCs freely at your leisure. Take your time, and good luck!

 I started the downloads because I had unexpected time this morning. the toggler finished first but wont open still. its giving me not valid bencoding.

What does "not valid bencoding" mean, I have never heard of this?  Are you saying you are having trouble torrenting the items? Have you tried a 'better' torrenting client such as qBittorrent, Tixati, Transmission, or Deluge?

Yeah, I can download them fine but trying to open them gives me error results. The first was Unknown Error and now the Valid Bencoding.

Google says the bencoding is either a corrupt file or my ISP corrupting the download. It suggests torrenting the magnet, which they are and/or using a VPN, which I am. I use BitTorrent.

Should I try another program?

Yes, I've heard about those "rumors" that ISPs and even some VPN providers corrupt downloads. Personally, I believe this is part of (mostly American) propaganda to deter people from downloading, and increasing chances that people spend money on overpriced items. A.k.a. I believe this is called fear-mongering.

If you downloaded something 100% in a torrent client and you get problems with extracting, try doing a "Force re-check" in your torrent client. Usually that option shows up when you right-click on a finished torrent.

But if you still get the problem, then yes. Please try one of the better torrent client programs, that I mentioned in my previous reply. I myself use qBittorrent, after I started getting more and more problems with uTorrent.
