Sims 3 update failed

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place (again), still haven't managed to work out how to use this site lol...
I tried updating my sims 3 game to version 1.33.2.015002 ( I have pets installed )
But after going through all of the update process, at the end it then said 'update failed, invalid file found' ... so it's not allowing me to update my game

Yes I used that when my sims 3 game wouldn't install at all, after downloading pets. I found it a bit confusing though - do I need to follow the steps again in order to update? What happens if I don't update straight away?

Hello,
That shouldn't happen with the manual patch.
If you don't update, you can use the crack that came with Pets, but only if your game version is 1.26.
Did you also use the fix?
