Patch Sims 3 inbetween installations?

So, does Sims 3 work if you patch in between the installations?
Because I know WA won't install until Base has been patched to a certain point.
Just thought I'd ask. If it helps, I'll put these in:

Hello,
The best thing to do is use this manual patch to patch all the way to game version 1.33 before installing any expansions. You wont have to use any other patches besides this one.
You can use the fix to crack it later, just note that one of the following expansions: Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff or Generations.
