Graphic issues with Sims 3 Pets (after crack+fix)

Hi,
I installed Sims 3 Pets (Fixed) and the crack didnt work initially - it would load and have a Windows error before I could play.
Then I read up on the forum How To Install Sims 3 Correctly, and The Ultimate Fix. Did all that and it would load as far as the Sims main menu and have a Sims error telling me to close the game. I undid all the files I had changed and tried again - first the update then the fix...
now it loads to the stage that I can play but the walls are everywhere, stretching across the screen. This isn't my screenshot, I googled for it but my game looks like this:
Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hello,
Do you have mods/cc? There might be a conflict.
Find out by trying this:
Go to (my) documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, and drag&drop the mods folder to your desktop.
Now start your game and see if it looks normal.
If you don't have any, or this doesn't work, you may have to update your graphics drivers.

) new signature you've been using lol.@ theadoralis this reminds me of 2 other problems we're seeing on the forum, which type of graphics card are you using?

The graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
I don't have a mods folder so I removed the Downloads folder, unfortunately no luck with it though. However when I start the game it tells me some objects could not be loaded and have been replaced... not sure if that's any help?

Hello,
Yes that does help, since the other people who are experiencing the same problem also have an ATI card so it's very possible the problems are related.
If you can specify which OS you're using and whether its 32 or 64 bit, Admin can help you find the correct driver so you can test to see if that fixes the problem.
It's no guarantee though, it may be something EA has to fix in a future patch.
