The sims 3 problems

Can anyone help?

I'm using a mac os x version 10.7.4 and have tried EVERYTHING to get my sims 3 and expansion packs working. I finally got it to run but then a dialogue box pops up saying I have the unofficial version do you wish to quit? so clicking no still runs the game but then I get to the end of the loading screen on the sims 3 town life and it says there is a bug do I want to debug it? whatever I press the game just instantly quits

PLEASE HELP!

If not, please download and apply it. Don't forget to read the included instructions VERY carefully. Do not skip any steps.

I've tried installing this ultimate fix and unfortunately it didn't work

However, I did miss out a step on the torrent download as it told me to install the sims 3 pets yet it was in windows format. Once I figured out how to get my mac to run the installation it popped up with a message saying that it couldn't install as there was no sims 3 game installed on the computer. So I left it out as I thought I could do without it.
