The sims 3 interface is wrong. [SOLVED]

To start things off, this happened randomly, and I haven't downloaded anything before this that hasn't worked in the game.
My interface, including the start up screen is a little off. Instead of being able to press the button where it was purposely placed, I have to maneuver my cursor to another position, that doesn't even have anything on it to press it. How can I fix this? I would like to keep my information, but I don't really care if I have to start over; I just want to avoid this happening again. Before this happened, my game would randomly crash, but I play on a laptop, so I think nothing of it.

I did actually do the fix crashes thing. It still crashes.
I haven't updated anything lately on my computer.
The problem fixed itself on it's own. I guess it was a glitch.
