could someone please help? sims 3 regedit questions

alrighty so I got the base game installed, though it never asked for a serial key... I just moved to the next step, dunno if thats an issue or if its ok.
now i'm on world edition install and the instruction says to go to regedit and change the SKU to 2. but I can't seem to find what I need to change to 2. could someone explain this to me step by step?
so far I have found the sims>sims3 regtree. but what or how to edit?
also I run windows 7 64 bit.

Hello,
It should've asked for a serial during installation, not sure why it wouldn't, unless it's a modified installer. If it is, you won't be able to install expansions or patch your game though.
But other than that, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

well I was able to add the expansions, it was the base I downloaded from your site. but it never asked for a serial. and all the exapnsions are now installing just fine.
