Screen Flashes bright and dim then freezes.

Please Help,

I have installed all the expansions (except WA) and of course the base game from your brillant site. I followed the install instructions to the letter and the cracks in the right spots. My problem is when playing in the Sims if I try and select an activity in the large world map screen, aka select a course at the theatre, the screen will start flashing. The flashing is not to black, as i have read, but bright and dim repeatly (the whole screen) and then the game freezes or crashes. When my sim is in his house or just zoomed in on the sim no problems. I thought maybe it was my graphics card but i have updated it and lower the graphic settings in the game. I have tried removing all custom content but that made no difference. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Let's start with this: do you have any Mods or Custom Content?
Also, please provide your graphic card's model and what operating system you're using (Windows 7, Vista, XP) and whether it's a 32- or 64-bit system.

Yes i do have some custom content but tested without and made no difference. I am running XP 32 bit and have included below my system info. Thanks again.

I'm sorry, I can't see the system info.
Meanwhile, also try as follows:

1. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\and note the folder called "The Sims 3".
2. Drag & drop this folder to your Desktop and remove it from your Documents folder.
3. Now start the game and let us know the result.
