Can't open updates for Sims 3

I saw a similar post to this, but I don't think the problems the same at all.
When I go to game updates on the launcher and select the updates i want to install and then click "update now", nothing happens. It doesn't open a new screen, it doesn't turn my cursor into an hourglass, it doesn't even freeze my screen. It just doesn't do anything.
Please help!

I recommend you Install out The Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff Download from www.games4theworld.org , as this'll Update your Game to the latest version automatically.

I downloaded the torrent successfully, but when I tried to open the TS3SP02.exe (setup application (as you probably already know)) it gave me an error message saying my base game is corrupt or installed incorrectly. I downloaded the base game from GFTW as well and followed the directions to the letter, so I'm not really sure why I'm having issues. Y_Y

Here try this,
Delete the file you unzip. But keep the torrent. ( Don't delete the torrent you download from games4theworld )
After you delete the file.
Try Unzip/extract it back using WinRar , which you can download at www.games4theworld.org , you can see the file inside " All Our Download "

After you unzip/extract try the installation again.

Ahh too bad I don't think the torrent have problem. Since it work for other.
Have you scan your pc for virus lately ?

Corrupt base Game? Backup your SaveGames first and then do the following:

1. Uninstall The Sims 3 and áll other Expansions. (You may want to backup your SaveGames first!)
2. Restart your PC. (!)
3. Reinstall The Sims 3.
4. Install WA.*
5. Install HELS.*
6. Install Ambitions.
7. Apply this fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/fixes-f18/the-sims-3-error-0x039e8474-fix-t451.htm
8. Reinstall Fast Lane Stuff.
9. See if it works now.
