Help! Game won't start!

Okay, so I re-installed all of my sims 3 games and everything. Before it was working but it kept crashing. Now it will start but then crash and show these messages:

Unable to start game
Service initialisation failed (0x024e424f)
-Ok-

followed by

Exception Raised
Unhandled exception 0x80000003 at address 0x0058b7f6
Do you wish to debug it?

I replaced the bin files with every crack possible. The ones in the #crack folder, the ones in the showtime folder, and even the ones that came with my showtimes torrent. None of them work. I updated an it won't work. I don't know what's wrong. :'( and I don't want to reinstall again because it takes literally forever. I have all the games except for the last two...

Hello,

Have you been using mods/cc? Because that particular service initialization error can also occur when you're using outdated mods.
Or indeed when you're crack is incompatible. If you're not using mods, please verify that your game version is 1.36, and that you're using the latest fix.

I have hundreds of cc and mods. Where are these stored? I've never updated any of them. Also, how do I find out what game version I have?

Hello,

Good question, I think you've created a framework at some point for your mods. Do you have a Sims 3 folder in your documents with your save games? The mods folder would be in the same folder.
I seem to have read somewhere that you can't look at the launcher to find out if you're on mac, just in case that you can, how to do that is shown in the image below. If that doesn't work, look here.

I seemed to have fixed it by taking out my mods folder. There must have been a bad mod in there.

Hello,

You can test which one(s) by adding them to your game in small groups of 5-10. If the problems start again, you'll know which batch has the problem mod and adding those 5 one by one should allow you to identify the problem.

So how do we fix that if we don't have any mods??

My game version say : The Sims™ 3 v1.00.005800
The Fix I downloaded says: Updated on: 12/07/2012

Is there something wrong there?
