Broken Sims 2

I'd like to first start out with saying that I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section/if this is against the rules. Although I've fully read the rules, and have searched for this thread on the form, I'm not fully certain where this falls. If this in any way is against the rules, or if the thread already exists, please just delete this thread, and/or link me to the preexisting thread discussing this topic.

I am the owner at current of the Sims two double deluxe, as well as all of the downloadable content for said game. Recently my disk for the sims 2 Double Deluxe was broken in two, and strangely enough I need to boot up the Sims 2 double deluxe instead of using the latest Expansion that I own (Mansions). So while I'm all for supporting the company, I'd rather not want to have to purchase a whole new copy of a game that I've already sunk this much cash into.

I'd just like to be able to go back to playing my Sims two.If there is any sort of program or whatever that would make it so I don't need to incert the broken CD to get it to launch, or maybe even just making it so I can use one of my expansion disks instead, I would be most grateful. Thank you for your time, and I'm hoping that everything checks out about this request.

I have good news for you. In order to play without the game disc, all you need is a NoCD crack. It lets your game think the original disc is inserted, even though it isn't.
So it's The Sims 2 Double Deluxe? It has all the expansions?

The Sims 2 Double Deluxe comes with two expansions,(Nightlife, and Celebration Stuff) along with the base game. Scholastic was selling it near the end of the Sims two releases of expansion packs. It has teasers of all the expansion content, like showing you greyed out icons for other parts of the neighborhood, and greyed out icons of clothing/family selection items.

I have no idea why but it is treated like the newest expansion pack, and therefore is the only disk you need to place into your computer in order to boot all the DLC after your initial install.

It didn't come with all the expansions for the Sims Two, but I did manage to purchase all of them over the years, along with all but the family stuff pack. The Sims 2: DD functions I guess a bit like a dc crack for all of the expansions, as long as you have that one disk.

The upside is that I don't need to keep around the newest expansion, and could, if I felt so inclined loan my expansions to friends for a bit to try out. The downside is the predicament that I'm in now.

Now when I try to start it, it says that I have the wrong disk inserted. It says that I need to insert the Sims 2 double Deluxe. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it on my own, but I'm not exactly what most would call tech savvy.

I figured it was pretty simple to do, I just went into my C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Double Deluxe but it didn't work even though I coppied over each of the Base, Ep2, Sp4, files the game still doesn't believe that I have the disk inserted.
