Did EVERYTHING according to instructions. Try to load "Unknown Error Occurred"

So, I downloaded and installed The Sims 3 Reloaded.

Then I downloaded High End Loft Stuff, Late Night, Outdoor Living Stuff, Town Stuff, and Showtime. Used Stuffit to un-rar all of them, and had to create a disk image for each of them to re-copy the files to to run the installer.

I also had to apply the manual fix/update to get the packs to install.

Once everything was done, I followed the directions for ultimate fix exactly as it showed, putting the "showtime" files in the base folder and all that. When I got to step 11, The Sims wouldn't open, so I RE-did the manual update, and then did the last step with the crack in the base folder overwriting the previous ones. Now, I click the Sims 3 icon and it pops up, along with Showtime, and before I even get a window, it says an unknown error occurred.


It's just frustrating that after all this time consumer trial and error, I have an "Unknown Error Occurred" error when I try to open the game.

Have you tried running the game without the launcher?

I'm not sure I know how to do that?

I can't launch it from TS3W because it's an exe file. However -

I found a fix where I changed a line in the info.plst to that directory so that it launches the game directly.

But NOW I get an error when it tries to launch the game that says:
"Unable to start game"
"Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)"

Don't use the sims 3 base from here use the reloaded if you have that error on mac you use the wrong base game

Well, I'm not 100% sure either, but I'll try.
Please re-download and re-apply the Ultimate Fix for Mac.

Should I re-download and re-use the manual patch when I get to step 11 as well, since my launcher never worked and now I've even bypassed it via changing the info.plst?

Re-downloaded and re-applied the fix, re-patched.... same error.

I
really don't want to go through the hassle of re-installing the entire
game and each pack, especially since I have to burn disc images of each
pack again because that was the only way to make it work.

If I do this, I don't want to get the same annoying error at the end.

Is there anything in my steps in the first question that seems odd or out of place?

When
I install The Sims 3 RELOADED, should I crack/patch it, or not even
bother, since I have to install all the other packs and then crack/patch
it at the end? I didn't crack it this last when I tried to install
everything.

Since there was no reply, I re-downloaded and re-unzipped and re-disc
imaged and re-installed and re-patched and re-cracked the entire bloody
thing. A process that took over 4 hours, and I KNOW I did every single
little thing right. Still got the same error in the end.

you are not alone..same as my problem everything you said and what you did, i did it also and nothing happens.. i am really desperate
