Install on an external hard drive

Hello guys,

Is it possible to install all sims3 contents on an external hard drive on Mac?

Has anyone installed them successfully?

I have all the Sims 3 games from here installed on my External HD. Runs great. But it is connected via Firewire. Normal USB cable will possibly cause it to run alot slower(Tech at the store told us when we bought it).
But its totally doable!

Firewire is a lot faster than USB, but games like The Sims 3 should do fine via USB. Maybe loading and saving will be slower.

Do you think that maybe usb 3.0 is just fine for sims3 cause its a lot cheaper?

My macbook air doesnt have that much space.

USB 3.0 is a lot faster (and more expensive) than USB 2.0, but (it should be) slower than FireWire.
For gaming however, USB 3.0 will do great.
