Crashing Windows 8 [SOLVED] Empty Crashing Windows 8 [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Sun 02 Sep 2012, 23:07

So it just started today and I've actually been keeping my computer real cool for once when I game. I'll be ingame and creating my house when it'll crash and say the Sims 3 has stopped working. :l I have a PC, I am using windows 8 beta. c: I've played at longest around 6 hours in one sitting. Should I wait for the new patch to be released or is there any help that can be provided now? o:

Thank you in advance~.

Hi,

Its little to go on without computer specs.

Go here and see if your computer passes the requirements for Sims 3 - http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

Also, I wouldn't be playing it in Windows 8 beta, not sure what the others think but I wouldn't personally.

If you pass the the requirements test, post again Smile

Um, yeah not to sure on win8 beta... I think that's a bit advanced for the sims right now. Have you tried the DEP solution yet?

Hello,

Yes, The Sims 3 is known to cause problems on Windows 8 operating systems, as that operating is not officially supported yet and still contains bugs.
I'm afraid I don't have any good news for you, at the moment.

Ah, I see, so it is win 8. Haha, well it quit crashing after a few hours break. (Around 3 hours) I rather like win 8 and it's worked fine and extremely well despite that. If it happens to others, just give it a few hours break. c: Thanks for all the input!

Forgot about specs, yikes, really new to this haha. I've got a Dell Latitude E6400 if anyone wants to doublecheck on that. My uncle gave me this laptop and he's a major gamer, haha! So he had like 3 games installed on this for me. ;u;' Pretty sure the specs should be up to date for sims. If I encounter future problems I'll ask him about it next since he also plays Sims 3 on win 8. Thank you again everyone~. c:

I will try out the DEP right now. c: Thanks for the heads up Scarletrose!

I will consider this solved now.
