MAC Ultimate Fix Update (11/12) contains all exes and not expected dmg

I'm new here, but I was looking for a way to play my Sims3 game without the disc (which I didn't pack when I went on 6 month trip...go figure). Anyhow, the Ultimate Fix looks like it should work splendidly, unfortunately the Mac version seems to contain the identical files to the PC download.

I can see how this would happen, I know I've zipped the wrong files a number of times, but I figured you'd like to know.

It appears they are not supposed to be .dmg in the package, so I guess I did. I might suggest adding it to the read me in the package because I certainly wouldn't have thought to look for something on how to convert the exe to a dmg.

Mmmm... I'm not sure I follow you. But let me ask you something: How did you unzip the .rar files you downloaded?

I unzipped the files the same way I unzip everything and have for years. According to the previous poster they linked to an article on how to create empty .dmgs to place the .exes into. That explains why the Mac version of the download contains .exes instead of what most mac people will expect which is a dmg.

I'm not trying to be a pain and thought if you included that information IN the package it might save additional postings of this nature.

I actually ended up finding a simple NOCD patch last night, since that's the only "fix" I actually needed.

I just wanted to know if you used StuffIt Expander to unzip the .rar, because it's the programm we recommend to do so.
And inside those .rar come the .exe files and the Mac installer, not a .dmg. So don't look for it because it's not there. (I thought you meant this)

Nope. Honestly, I didn't look any farther than the readme and the .exe files before determining it wasn't likely to work and was probably a glitch.

Then you won't be able to unzip your files correctly.

The Ultimate Fix is a series of cracks. You're not supposed to open the cracks themselves, but move them to the correct game folders. There's no .dmg process involved.
