Reinstalled windows - but still have all sims 3 files on external harddrive.[SOLVED]
Hi there.
So, my PC needed a shiny new motherboard and graphics card. Got all my sims 3 games on the external hard drive, so i figured i could just start the game as normal, once i finished the my main harddrive. But guess what, nothing works - and i just don't understand it. I've googled, but i can't find anything...
Do i really need to reinstall everything???? (have all SP and EP's up until Katy Perry's)
First i tried the ultimate fix. didn't fix it. Says unable to start, please install base game.
I've tried the manual patch, it also says that sims 3 isn't installed.
I can see the files on my D:/ (the external)
Thanks in advance

Hello,
Yes, since you reinstalled your Windows too, your new Windows does not recognize the old games as installed.
You definitely need to reinstall the games following these instructions, I'm afraid: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Hello,
No, I'm afraid not. There's no alternative, you'll have to reinstall everything.

Actually, i've already run into a problem... How do i manual uninstall all of it?
Do i just delete the files on my external and then dlete the files in regedit?
And can I do it in one go?

Hello,
There aren't any registry entries, since it was wiped clean when you reinstalled Windows. You can delete the installation folders on your D: drive. That's all there is to it.
