Cooking/Eating glitch

Hi there,

I seem to be having a very frustrating issue with my Sims 3 game.

Every time I try to prepare a meal, my Sim will freeze for 3 seconds, and the food will disappear and I will later find it randomly on the ground somewhere. I would try "continue cooking" it, but after the food is done, it will go into my inventory and the only option that's available is "clean up". In addition to that, there would be random blue and purple dots on the ground and they are supposedly objects that I can't pick up or do anything with.





I installed everything and also used the Sims fix from Games4TheWorld, and started playing last night.
And this started happening right off the bat. I've never had this issue before and I couldn't find a solution on google or on this forum, so any help or assistance would be much appreciated!

Another issue, probably related, the action queue would also randomly cancel at times, like when I go to work,
I will arrive in front of my work place, and then I'd have to click on the building and click go to work again for my Sim to actually go.

I've tried starting a new game in a new town and it doesn't seem to work, resetSim doesn't seem to work either so I'm not really sure what to do, and it would be a huge hassle to reinstall everything.. I don't have any custom mods or anything installed either.

Please open the game's launcher and hover your mouse over the base game icon in the lower-left corner of the launcher.
What version does it show? It starts with 1.xx.x
