"unable to verify your sims 3 ambitions disk, please contact customer support".[SOLVED]

Right, so! I've got the sims 2 base game (which i bought) and i recently downloaded the sims 3 ambitions, and they were both working fine, however, when i updated both of these to the most recent update you could get, i started getting this message "unable to verify your disk blabla" when i tried to play the game. it would load up fine, after the little video it always shows when it's loading up, but when it finally did i got this message
am i right in thinking if i download the ultimate fix and one of the expansions that is needed for it to work, will my problem be fixed?
just wondering cause it's doing my head in haha

Yeah, make sure you have on of the following Expansions packs installed so the Ultimate Fix will work correctly.
Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, AND/OR Generations
