How do I fix the 0x024e424f start up error?

Yes. I have version 1.42 of the game and everything is original(not cracked).
The game worked until this morning when I started to get this error. I really don't feel like re-installing the game once more.
I tried using Ultimate Fix but the problem still persists and I'm not sure I did the right thing. It had Seasons listed, but...
Does anyone know of a fix for non-cracked versions of the game that would actually work?
I am not even sure where to look for what can cause this problem.
Please?

Hello,
No, that's too much. And probably wouldn't work anyway.
This particular error suggests an outdated crack, or outdated mods. Make sure you're using the latest fix and if you are using mods, make sure they're all compatible with your game version.
It's also possible that you don't have the latest game version, which is fixed by using the manual patch.

Well, I already deleted everything sims-related from the registry to be sure and now I'm re-installing the game. :/
I tried many fixes and none worked. I prefer not to mess around with .exe files and have a clean game..
EDIT: Also, I am only using NRaas mods atm and double-check them everyday, so I'm sure they are up-dated. And the CC I'm using is mostly store stuff and some Peggy and Newsea hairs.

Ah I see I neglected to read your first post. Sorry about that.
Hmm well, I don't know what else it could be besides mods in your case. There's probably no need to check for updates every day, since this problem only occurs after the game has been patched. But what you could try, after you reinstalled, is test the game before adding the mods. If the problem occurs after putting back the mods folder, you'll know there's a mod or extra module that isn't compatible with your game version.

Well, I ran it without mods and had this problem before unistalling everything. So I'm quite convinced it isn't the mods.
I as well moved the Sims 3 Folder, documents one, to the desktop and still had the error with the game being 'clean'.

Update: re-installed everything and put everything back, played, etc.
Game worked great for the little while I played. Just that:

I just did a complete re-install of the Sims, put the mods, saves and CC back, tested. Game works great now, by the way.
But I can't open my older save files; instead I see blank pictures
and it says 'can't load, expansion pack data no longer present in the
system.
Okay, I can understand that I did things a bit differently: I
installed the game as well as the first 5 packs (WA, Amb, LN, Gens and
Pets) from the CD's whilist I went digital for the last 3 S's since I
don't have physical copies of them. Nevertheless game works better than
ever right now.
Last time, I went digital for everything, base game included and
had a swarm of bugs, issues and errors. >< Also, probably dfferent
kind of patch?
Either way, it's the same EP's and all of them and I don't get why I can't get around my older saves.
So, is there a solution for it? I kind of want them back.

Hello,
It's possible that your expansions are a different patch level than they were before. It doesn't serve any other purpose (anymore) to use the EP's individual patches, but it may help in this case.
You can find out for each EP at which patch level it is by hovering your mouse over its icon in your launcher, and find the patches for all the EP's here.
