The Sims 3 launcher starts, but does nothing.

I am having a problem with the Sims3 Ambitions as well. I downloaded it, applied the cracked files to the bin folder as per instructions, downloaded the updates, and when I try to use the launcher to open the game, nothing happens. The game does not start nor do I get an error message of any kind. Anyone else experience this? Any solutions?

To clarify, the launcher works just fine, and it tells me my game is up to date, but when I click the play button, nada.
