Decrapification and the (official) Sims 3 exchange
One thing right away dear Admins: if this isn't the right section, feel free to move this topic.
So I've actually managed to download items from the official Sims 3 exchange (without registering of course ). I've
downloaded this decrapifier from here (the one with the instructions from Lady Eldi) and managed to decrapify a lot of items already. It's
just some of the items from this official exchange that can't be decrapified - I always get the error "Installation failed - Please update your game".
I know that's just a small issue and I wouldn't bother if there's no solution (since I got all of the official store items anyway)...
But just out of interest : could that be some kind of additional "security measure" by EA ? I mean, that if you download some items from there without registering then you get something "different" - that is, something that can't be used ?
I'm certainly not a computer whiz, but could that be a solution ?

Hello,
We're not sure what causes that problem but it is a known fact that some items from the exchange will get that error no matter what. It can help to install them using an alternative method.
I do have 1 registered game and still get the error.

OK, I guess I missed that method..
However, since I don't really need these user-made CC items, that's no big deal. I have lots of stuff already
But thanks for the reply, Lady ElDi

Plus, outside of houses and sims, most of the stuff on the exchange is just recolors of items.
