Do you wish to debug

Do you wish to debug
I have updated to 1.47 and installed Seasons. Now it's crashing all the time it used to say do you wish to debug it. I followed some recommendations to fix it and all it did was remove the message, but it keeps crashing.

1. Are your computer's specs up to par for playing Sims 3?
2. Try renaming your /Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder to start with a vanilla game, and see if you get the same exception raised while playing

An unaltered, plain ol' Sims 3! It'll act as if it were brand new, bringing up tutorials and blank towns, etc.

From before: Are your computer's specs up to par for playing Sims 3?
So your game did not run any longer than usual when playing with a brand new Documents folder? Is there a specific point while playing that the game crashes (like when in Create a Sim, during saving, etc)?
Could you tell us what you did specifically when you "followed some recommendations to fix it"?

My computer specs are up to par. It didn't run any longer and it crashes in CAS

Re: Do you wish to debug
Alright well since it's a CAS exception raised issue (which, since you are not using custom content/mods basically translates to a cider issue), I would suggest picking up xQuartz:
http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/
It's a free program that will run in the background when you are playing your game, so you won't have to boot it up or anything. Just install, reboot after install, and it will automatically run. This should extend your CAS playability by a mile.
Lowering your in-game graphics settings and disabling things like memories & lessons also helps a lot.
Also, if you encounter the error again, take note of the address where the exception is raised.

Re: Do you wish to debug
Thank you. One thing, can I install CC again? And how do I take note of the adress?
PS: I already disabled all those things and lowered in-game graphics.

Re: Do you wish to debug
Yeah you should be able to install CC again, after you test your game and see if it is stable.
Usually when you get a debug error it reads something like "Exception raised. Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000014 at address 0x1028e14b. Do you wish to debug it?" The numbers can be useful in seeing what kind of error it is.
Let us know how it goes!

Re: Do you wish to debug
Dang!
Did you add in CC and get this error? Or is it still crashing in CAS on an unmodified game?
Is your game patched to the latest version?

Re: Do you wish to debug
It crashed without CC. Is patched to 1.47. And this error started with the 1.42 patch.

Re: Do you wish to debug
Hi i have the same problem often on a mac, though i have found a way to dramatically lessen the occurence.
First you want to go find XQuartz 2.7.4 its the latest version and really helps the cider wrapper which is what is crashing.
Also you will want to go into your user/Library/Preferences and delete anything with the sims3 in it. they will regenerate what is needed.
It really helped me, going from 15 minutes of gameplay to 2-3 hours.

Re: Do you wish to debug
I am getting this... "Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x00000000." when I launch sims 3 launcher, what the **** is going on, I literally put so much more work into this game than needed haha
EDIT: now I am just launching it from launcher
EDIT: now I get the cider problem, even though I have xquartz, and the newest version of it
