Sims 3 crashes. [SOLVED]
Hi there,
I've recently installed The Sims 3 with the Town Life expansion pack.
The game will load and will run fine for about 10 minutes, then it will crash. A popup says there is an error, and that windows is checking for a solution.
I have no mods or custom content. I have tried steps 1 & 2 from "The Sims 3 crashes / freezes to desktop fix" to no avail. I have a 64-bit system so I have assumed the other steps won't work either.
Any ideas what I could try?
Cheers
(I have checked through the forum and although many others have the same problem, their solutions don't seem to work for me)
Oh I did see gamebooster suggested to someone, but I don't know where to find it!

Hello,
Option 3 probably doesn't apply, but you can still try option 4. Also, make sure you've added all the game's exe's to the DEP.

Re: Sims 3 crashes. [SOLVED]
Hi,
Late reply? I thought it was very quick!
Game booster has helped a bit. it'll now run for about half an hour.
With the .exe files, I have put in all the ones in the 'Bin' folder, do I need to go through the folders within the 'Bin' folder (such and Packs, Reasources, and Gameplay) to find more?
I am just about to try option 4.
Thank you guys so much for all your help!!

Hello,
We usually reply on the same day so it's pretty late for our standards. Glad to hear you didn't experience it as such.
No the ones from the bin folder are ok, I don't think there are others, but make sure you've gone through each expansions' game\bin to grab all the exe's.
Please let us know the result.

Re: Sims 3 crashes. [SOLVED]
Hey,
Unfortunately Option 4 hasn't worked either.
Could it just be my laptop isn't good enough? I mean, if I just went and brought the game, do you think it would work?

Re: Sims 3 crashes. [SOLVED]
Hello,
No that wouldn't make a difference at all. The only thing that's different about what you download is that it needs to be cracked, the problems you may experience with the game and the system requirements are the same.
If you want to test your laptop against the games' system requirements, go here.

Re: Sims 3 crashes. [SOLVED]
My computer is well above the minimun requirements.
It will run ok in live and build mode for about half and hour, then crash. It will let me into CAS for less than 10 minutes (and thats when I 'change apperance' or 'plan outfit' in live mode too).

Re: Sims 3 crashes. [SOLVED]
Yes I tried all that applied to me.
For some reason it's decided to work now, occassionally I can play for up to an hour. Good enough for me, I'm happy with that!
Thanks guys for all you help
