Sims University. [SOLVED]
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I am having in University? I have had 2 sims now going for 2 different classes. One for athletic and one for Arts and neither one has a class schedule. Neither one goes to classes or lectures or anything! All they do is study with the book that they are given when they first start along with what ever else little things they get for their classes. Why can't I get my sims to go to classes? And why don't they have a schedule to go by?

Hello,
If you have mods, the first thing to try is see if it works if you disable your mods. Simply drag the mods folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
You know what? I did what I was reading in another post about university and that person having no academic panel. Someone told that person to clear their caches and something about DEP! Well, I did those things and I went back in to try enrolling a different sims into university and I actually saw their schedule! I goes back to my original sim that I enrolled and had to make them drop out and re-enroll and that did the trick!
But now I'm having the problem of missing content that I used to have in my game! Now what?

Hello,
If you cleared all of the caches, you may have to reinstall your cc.

I'll try that!
//EDIT
Ok I did re-install my cc and it seemed to work! But how do I take care of the saving situation that I am having? It keeps giving me an error code 12 or something like that and I can't save my game!

Hello,
I read about the save errors and I think I got it down. If not, I can always go and re-read it again. Thank you for everything that you helped me with. I was able to get my 2 sims back on track and they have a schedule now! Again, thank you!

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
as ive found out from hours and days of testing with the uni pack and all the problems people are having with the games after everything ive done . its nothing to do with mods or custom content. and its nothing to do with the sims 3 uni EP. its a bug in the last update they done 1.50 or what ever it is. u dont have to go uni it bugs the hole game . so the problem isent mods or custom content. its a huge bug witch ea aint gonna release any kind of patch until the next EP witch aint tell the end of june. so the only way round it isto. uninstall sims 3 and all the EPs and SPs . reinstall the base game then in stall 70,80,90s stuff so it updates to that patch . then the rest apart from the uni pack and stop your game from auto updateing tell the new update come in june

It's kind of funny that you're basically saying that no matter what, everybody is having all of their problems because of the patch. This update fixed a lot of problems for me, and we've been getting a lot of positive results and people being able to play perfectly even with having the update, and Uni Life installed. That may be where some people's problems lie, and I'm sure that there are issues with it. There always is, and I expect no more from EA any longer.

Actually, after I update my game and installed Uni, I never have the problems you said before.(no class schedule and bla bla bla)I tried it on a notebook computer and desktop pc. No problem at all!kidrock2k12 wrote:ea have blatenly blown off people they need to bring out a new update soon
So stop saying that EA is blowing people off. Stop being pissed off! It is only you and some of the players who have these problems. NOT all!

Actually, since we're sooo off topic here, let's have you guys create a new topic somewhere (probably in sims 3 chit-chat) to discuss the problems people are having with Uni/patch 1.50. That way we can continue to help OP/close the topic if needed.
Now, Sidekick, are you all set with the game for now?

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
Well, I'm still have problems with my sims having a schedule after enrolling in university sometimes. I make them drop out and then I try again but I'm still not getting a schedule on one of my sims that I like to play. I just hope that I don't have to delete that sims and start over! I was also wondering if every time you make your sims drop out of university and they go home. Do they have to take that Assessment again before re-enrolling in university again? Does that help at all?

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
Have you tried moving the family to a different town and sending them from there? Either by binning them, and doing it that way, or by using Porter?

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
Ok you can save your household, and then begin a new game in another town, then load your household again.
First try this, then you can try a MOD like Porter...

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
You'd go into edit town mode, and select the household you're playing. Then there's a button on that pop up panel that says save to bin (or something along those lines). You use that, then start a new game, and you can place that family in the new game.

Re: Sims University. [SOLVED]
yes I have! I've uninstalled and re-installed the game, made sure that it has the right patch, took out all the mods that may be affecting the game, I've cleared the games caches on a daily basis, I don't know what else to do!

Hello,
The missing schedule is a known bug in "University", but if you're willing to experiment, the following might help you:
-Look at this article here.
Probably the most important section for you in there is the one about manually deleting the registry keys of "University", as part of uninstalling that expansion. Alternatively, you might want to try one of the numerous "registry cleaners" available for free download on the internet (for example the "CCleaner"); but they might not be able to remove registry remnants of the Sims 3, and keep in mind too that they can do more damage than good...so I recommend deleting the registry keys manually .
-After that, rename your "The Sims 3"- folder (located in Documents/Electronic Arts), for example like this here: "The Sims 3_". From then on, don't touch that folder or anything in it !
-And now re-install "University".
-Start the game (you have to start a new savegame for now) and see if the academic schedule is still gone.
I know that this might take some time and work, but you should give it a try.
This is (almost) the same as I did. Except that I did that right away before installing University. And yes, I have an academic schedule.
