Transferring Sims 3 app

Hello !  

I plan on buying a new mac, and have downloaded most of the sims expansion here, and so don't have any CD.
And I wondered if I could transfer my sims 3 apps ( ex : Thesims3IslandParadise.app )  from my computer to my new computer, rather than downloading it again on my new computer ? 

And if I do transfer the apps on my new computer, will clicking on those apps allow me to install the game again, or should I just re-download everything, since those apps are not the "expansion's installer" ?

I think you can, as Macs dosn't install like the PCs. I am using external hard drive and sometimes transferring the game to it, or from it to Mac and I am not having any problem
