Sims 3 Intel Graphics Crashes

Sims 3 Intel Graphics Crashes

I have an acer laptop and when i play the sims 3 after some time probably 15-30 minutes a black screen appears and start flashing and a pop up says that intel graphics stop responding and has successfully recovered. What should I do to fix it? 
Note:My computer also has nvidia geforce gt 540M. Can i switch them somehow so sims use the nvidia and stop crashing?

You can also lower your graphics settings for the game under Options.
As far as switching which GPU the game uses, its set up to use your default GPU so if you want to set your nVidia up as the default GPU you will need to look at the documentation for your laptop and se how to disable the Intel GPU and set the nVidia as your default.

Update it:
Click ''Windows button +R'' now ''Run'' will open, type in it: dxdiag
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the ''Display'' tab there you can have information about your graphics card in the ''Device'' section.
And then go there and download the latest update: http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/
Also enable V-Sync: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034107.htm

Hello,
Personally, I think you'll get the best results in-game if you set the nvidia card as your default card.
