crash to desktop. won't even load sims 3

i downloaded the sims 3 university life torrent and put the crack in the game/bin folder. i downloaded the base game off of ORigin so i put the crack in the program files/origin games/sims 3/game/bin file. but now when i try to play the sims it won't even load the game. it just crashes to desktop every time with no error message. what am i doing wrong? i have windows 8
