black screen windows 8

hey im running windows 8 used to run windows 7 had no problem on there but now i have installed everything and done the fix like said but i launch the game and it gives me a black screen i have left it for 30mins and hour and still nothing i seen there was someone else with the problem so i did what they was told and still nothing im seriously thinking about downgrading back to windows 7 all tho i like windows 8 very much i am downloading the new add on (movie stuff) and the fix hoping that sorts it if not im stuck !!! Sad

( miss playing the sims lol

Hello,

Have you tried the following:

(1) Download the latest manual patch that updates your game to 1.57 and apply it: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v157-fix-manual-patch

(2) Download the latest Ultimate Fix (Download a new one even though you may have downloaded one): https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

(3) Drag and drop the content of the folder #crack from the Ultimate Fix to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin (OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin if you bought/downloaded and installed the base game via Origin)

Also, I suggest you go to the folder C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and delete the following:

Create-a-Sim Cache: CasPartCache.package
Build/Buy mode cache: compositorCache.package
Mod or custom content cache: scriptCache.package
New Sims and skin cache: simCompositorCache.package
Look for a folder that says Thumbnails. Delete anything inside of it.
Look for WorldCaches and delete anything inside of it.
Look for the folder CurrentGame.sims3 and delete everything inside.

hello i have done all that and after installing movie stuff im now getting and error saying....
unable to start game service initialization failed (0x065d0274)

Hello,

Most likely you have incompatible CC/Mods. Can you try the following (even if you have done that):

Go to The Sims 3 in your Documents folder:

Go to C:\Users\"username"\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Create-a-Sim Cache: CasPartCache.package
Build/Buy mode cache: compositorCache.package
Mod or custom content cache: scriptCache.package
New Sims and skin cache: simCompositorCache.package
Look for a folder that says Thumbnails. Delete anything inside of it.
Look for the folder WorldCaches and delete everything inside of it.

To delete your mods/CC that is in packages simply go to C:\Users\"username"\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and remove the folder "Mods".
