How does the generations make sims 3 base work? (Just want to know). [SOLVED]

I am just a bit curious, and I know I might be taking the time of admins, however I just wanted to know how does installing sims 3 generations make sims 3 work?

I don't understand your question 100%, because The Sims 3 also works without Generations.
Though, if you want to update to the latest version, you'll need Generations to be installed. Why? Because this is the latest expansion for the game. It'll also have the latest game version: 8.xx.xx . If you try to use the original base game crack, it won't work, because that one will be out-dated when you update your game to the latest version.
That's why you need to apply the (Generations) crack that comes with the Fix, because those cracks are always up-to-date.
