SIMS 3 FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!!!! [SOLVED] Empty SIMS 3 FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!!!! [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Fri 17 Jan 2014, 15:55

:newfag: hello to the lovely members of games4theworld. As this is my first post I'd like to inform right out what a great job everybody is doing here. Helping us poor bastards who cant afford to buy the sims 3 legally is indeed a noble cause deserving of a nobel prize in my opinion lol! . But keeping aside all the ******** let me get straight to the point now:
A Few months later I had the sims 3 installed on my Laptop in a drive other than C ( ill get to this later why I mentioned here specifically) i.e. in my F Drive as I had reserved C for system related files, and it was also advised to me that if hard-disk goes corrupt, then any important files in C drive would also be washed away, but if it was in any other drive other than C (like D,E,F...etc) then a backup could be taken and the imp piece of info. could be saved. By following  that mantra I had it installed on my F drive like I told earlier, played it to my heart's content and then after another few months later ( im really sorry I cant mention the exact time interval as im too lazy to remember it  tongue ) I installed seasons from games4theworld's torrent. I'd like to mention here that I had bought the base game from a local CD-shop which was offcourse illegal i.e. it was downloaded of a different torrent (i guess) other than games4theworld by that guy who ran the shop. Then after all the usual struggles during installing , I somehow got it to run and then again enjoyed seasons too. Now just a few days back( I guess last week), I thought it was time to move on to a new expansion and that Is when I decided to download University Life( U.L), and immediately started it.It was from none other than games4theworld torrent (huge shoutout to u people   cheers ). After struggling with the download part as I have a slow internet connection, I somehow finished downloading it and tried to install. At that time my base game version was very much outdated and I hadn't realized. But then before I had continued downloading UL I kept it on hold for the moment and tried downloading the update from the sims 3 launcher. The update got downloaded very well but couldn't install and it had to be terminated. I just ignored it and continued with my UL download. And then During the installation of UL after a successful download it asked me that whether I would like to update the base game version as it was downloaded but not installed but probably saved somewhere. I just clicked OK, the game got updated, UL got installed. Now when I tried to run the game it loaded just fine until the screen where we have to choose the player. Then a message popped up saying "No game disc found. Please insert the sims 3 university life disc before proceeding".  pale After googling for a fix I found the same problem a different member faced and who had posted here in G4TW : https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t13884-the-sims-3-university-life-no-game-disc-found-problem-solved. If you can spare the time and take a look at the link I provided above, I followed J.T's advice and did all those 4 steps ( in the 2nd step i.e the ultimate fix step I downloaded labeled *not working* anyhow and tried applying). I had to again painstakingly download the manual patch as its a 1.63 GB download, wait patiently till it completed and then tried to apply it but came up with an error "AGAIN"!
now the error was this:
0x80040702 missing DLL:Dsetup.
So I googled for another possible fix searchin whether I could find the dll file separately for download but ended up finding this software:
DLL files fixer.
I installed it and ran it. It downloaded the missing DLL file Dsetup  for me but as it was a trial kind of version it could only allow me to fix 15 errors out of a possible 561 odd errors (what an  Censored   Smile ) so I just continued anyway. Now tried installing the manual patch and would you believe it, IT GOT INSTALLED! I was so  F'ing  relieved that all my problems were over but then while I tried to run Seasons firstly to check whether it would run, now a different error came up:
Unable to start game Service Initialization failed, followed by some numbers.
After again scavenging for help I realized from several websites as well as G4TW that a full uninstall and re-install would be advisable. Anywho I uninstalled everything right upto the last registry key all of them (Base game, seasons) and then ran Ccleaner for registry issues, fixed them too, and then started a fresh installation of the base game following the video on how to install it correctly (I did not follow the daemon tools part):
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
Then  I installed sims 3 and got it to work and it worked. Now I tried installing the seasons expansion firstly then even before it could start installing a message pops up saying:
"This product requires an installed copy of the sims 3...etc" scratch . Now I guess im done looking here and there and as I've seen countless no. of people having their problems solved here, my kind request to all the admins, mods, members etc to help a fan of Sims 3 get back to playing his game with all the expansions as before.
( My sincere apologies if what i've written seems a bit too long and hard for you'll to read, I just wanted to convey my problem in a clean cut way to avoid any confusions that I've seen arise in other topics)
Help would surely be appreciated  Help . Thanking you in advance!! Very Happy

Hello,

I hope you're trying to install all your games on one hard-drive only ?

Besides that, there is not much else left what comes to my mind; it's possible though that your base game causes a few issues - so you might want to try re-downloading the G4TW version of it (I know in your case this is not the best solution, but yes).

Before you do that though, try doing again a proper un-install. Download "Your Un-installer Pro !" (available from G4TW on Piratebay). When you open the program try just un-installing the base game; so double-click on the base game icon and choose "Super mode". Follow the instructions on-screen.

After that, re-boot the computer. Then re-install the base game. And after that, re-do the steps from 2 to 4 here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

See if that works for you and let us know  - good luck !

P.S. don't use swearwords anymore; even though you don't mean it in an offensive way, it's still against the rules of the forum, and it also means that instead of helping people I have to spend a little bit more time to censor posts. Wink

SIMS 3 FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!!!! [SOLVED] Empty Re: SIMS 3 FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!!!! [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Sat 18 Jan 2014, 15:50

I guess as you've said, the base game and the expansions may be clashing. Because the base game was not downloaded from G4TW but both the expansions were. So I guess i'll just re-download the base game from your torrent. Hope it works!! Also I downloaded Your Unin-staller! pro and as I had deleted the base game earlier to opening a topic here, it didn't show any icon and I guess it has been totally erased (or I hope so).And also as you mentioned earlier, I was also trying to install everything i.e. base game, seasons and UL on the same drive F. I hope that didn't cause any problems.

And i apologise on the swearing part  Embarassed . I'll try and follow the rules of the forum as far as possible. Smile
Once again I appreciated the fast reply. Thanks a ton!!
I'll update as soon as I finish downloading the base game!

OK, even if you don't see any icons in "Your Un-installer", try googling for "CCleaner" and let it check your computer for registry entries. If you find something, then clean it with CCleaner and re-boot the computer.

Keep us updated !

SIMS 3 FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!!!! [SOLVED] Empty Re: SIMS 3 FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!!!! [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Tue 21 Jan 2014, 09:36

Now as I type, the base game is about to be finished downloading. After that is it O.K if I install the base game, seasons, and university life on the same drive i.e. F? I know its better if we install in C drive but as i have very low space in it i dont have any other option. And also  I'll follow the steps 2-4 from this :
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
After I install everything(base game, expansions) I'll update manually, and download and apply the fix. So far is it alright?

you can install ur game in any drive you want, after that apply the manual patch v1.66 so that you dont need to update your game when ever you install an ep or sp and now install all the sp or eps you want then apply the ultimate fix and you are good to play
