What Expansion packs should I download?
Hi hi~
I recently downloaded Sims 3, again on my laptop. (It's actually installing right now.) And I was wondering what 3 expansion packs I should download. One of them has to be either Pets, or Seasons but I think I want Seasons more. What other 2 should I do? I've had every exspansion pack on here, but not at once only 3-4 at a time. I loved WA,Generations was.. ok. Ambitions is too... country? . LA was nice, but people never went into the clubs.. I do NOT want Into the Future. I simply did not like it.

Hello,
In addition to "Seasons", I'd choose Supernatural and then either Late night or Ambitions.
Island paradise is nice too, but the world (Isla Paradiso) is quite demanding on the computer's performance, especially on low(er)-end computers. Most stuff packs aren't good either, so... yes.
I hope this helps you a bit !

Then choose "Pets".
//EDIT
It has the highest "play value", from the "remaining" expansions, in my opinion at least.

Re: What Expansion packs should I download?
I actually have (WA, Ambitions, Late night, Generations, Pets, and seasons) all installed.
I'd advice u with pets and Ambitions, as ambitions have lots of careers which your sim could follow.
I also want to download another ep, but i dont know what to download, theres (Super naturals, Show Time, University life, and Island paradise) any advice guys ?

Re: What Expansion packs should I download?
It depends on the way you play the game. Island paradise is great for building( coz you can build over water) and the world is beautiful. University life has lots of new interactions and your sim gets the college experience with parties, classes and generally breaking rules. And streaking which is always fun. Supernatural is for fantasy, you get so many new life states and lots of new toys to play with. However the life states are more like childish fairy tales than horror stories. But then again I use sims as a form of anger management so that might just be me. I dont have showtime so I can give you an honest opinion. But if I had to choose I'd pick IP or UL

Ambition is great if you want more career option such as firefighter or ghost hunter. Although some of 'em are bugged -_-

Hello,
In my opinion, my 4 fave expansions are:
1. Pets (I love pets, even I don't have one on real-life. Sims with Pets will improve your gameplay! I swear)
2. Seasons (I love Sims to be more realistic, so different weathers will add some realism in the game.)
3. Island Paradise (I love this expansion, because of houseboats and resort management. Tho it gives me some lags.)
4. Late Night (Sorry but for me, I love this because of the condominiums, bars, and especially celebrities! I always make a Taylor Swift Sim then I make her a celebrity. lol)
And other expansions, I can live without them.

Re: What Expansion packs should I download?
I always install ALL expansions that are available at same time, but maybe you don't have much space, so here is a list of my favorites:
1. Late Night: elevators and tall buildings, among other nice things, just an essential I CAN'T let aside! Besides, it has my favorite EA world and the celebrity system!
2. World Adventures: first, i love to be able to hide rooms, so it helps me as a builder, but besides that, you can travel and the "adventures", which give you tasks to complete, you have a reason to go all around collecting and delivering things, it really adds another whole dimension to the game without any doubt!
3. Seasons: I LOVE SNOW! The rain and hail noises can be relaxing too...
4. Ambitions: Love to be the architect, I can go around messing other people's houses! More reason to build, yay!!!
5. Paradise Island: Houseboats and Resorts are really fun to play with! I really love the water capabilities this expansion adds! I don't mind the world that comes with it, though, since I really like to see my sim driving or getting a taxi all over the place.
6. Generations: Just because it comes with the lovely round stairs, I really love using them around!
7. Showtime: Love the singing career and to play as a Superstar!
8. University: As a builder, it adds a whole new different way of building apartments (I NEVER played with a sim in University with The Sims 3, only with the Sims 2)...
9. Into the Future: Nice new glass windows and some modern stuff to use (I know it's a game, but I feel the time travel a bit too unrealistic and I didn't even try it yet, maybe someday...).
That's it, I think! Those are my 9 favorites along my motivation. If I wanted to play in a little tablet without enough space, like in the tablet that I just got, which only has 32 GB of internal "disk" space, plus a 64 Micro SD, and I didn't want to install all in my SDCard (which I AM doing), I would follow that order (and I may have to, in case the game doesn't run smoothly with all expansions, since it's a Tablet/Netbook ASUS Transformer T100).
You may also remember they have stuff packs as well, I like the High End Loft Stuff, Outdoor Living Stuff, Master Suite Stuff as my my three favorites, and they go after all the expansion packs, of course!
There are some expansions and stuff packs I didn't mention, because I don't think they make the cut as "favorites", but I also install them because you always get more functionality and objects with them...
That's it! I hope you like my list and that it helps you somehow!
Happy simming!!!

Re: What Expansion packs should I download?
If your computer is actually strong enough, I'd just install ALL expansions and stuffpacks.
What I find disappointing about World Adventures, Into the Future & Universiy Life is the highly glitchy "travelling system", in which the sims either don't arrive at all at their destination or can't travel back (there are mods though that help out with that).

Re: What Expansion packs should I download?
Hi~
I'm quite a realist so these are the expansion packs I like and think makes the game "real" :
-Seasons
-Pets
-University Life
I currently only have seasons installed as I want to keep my not-made-for-gaming laptop "neat".
But I'll probably get Pets soon...
Happy simming!!!

Hello LFTada02 and welcome to our forum,
Nice ! The weather effects on Seasons and the rendering in the "Pets" expansion are known to be demanding though on especially weaker systems/graphics cards. If your laptop isn't so strong, you shouldn't play for too long in a session. Also, lower all graphics settings too, in the in-game options menu, in order to reduce the load on your computer.

Hey! Ok I have some expansion packs that I think are pretty good
1)Pets is a must if you want your sims to have pets
2)Seasons! The sims 3 isn't anything without seasons
3)I would probably recommend generations because it gives more features to certain life stages, excluding toddlers and newborns. It's actually a really good expansion but you don't get a new world.
4)University life is a really good expansion too if you want your sims to experience the college life
5) Supernatural, it is ok if you want all of that paranormal stuff in your world.
