Problems with downloading 'The Sims 3 University Life'

Hey guys,here's the problem.I have downloaded the torrent of 'The Sims 3' and I cracked it and did all the procedure needed.I tried to play it and it worked just fine.I didn't update or patched it because always,when I did it there was some kind of a problem.So,when I was sure it worked okay I started the Setup of University Life wich I had downloaded by games4theworld (great torrent btw Smile

) And on the setup,I did the update needed for the extension to download.I cracked it to the base game,and when I wanted to click on the launcher guess what? An error showed up saying : 'There was an error during startup.Please see the log for more details'.

If you need further information I have a HP Compaq 6910p with a Windows 7 Professional,32bit operating system,2GB RAM Memory and max. 16% CPU usage.Maybe the RAM isn't enough?
But I wanted to point out that before this,I had downloaded the Sims 3,Generations,and University Life ,and it downloaded perfectly with all the patches,but every time I finished at the 'Create a Sim' the game stopped working.I thought that the solution was to remove an expansion because my system can't handle it,but now it doesn't even download!

Is there anything I have to download? Please answer with details because even though I'm a girl who had a lot of experience with the Sims,I'm a Noob

As for your issue, please check out the video in the first post of the following topic:

Note that the video is for 64-bit Windows systems. If your Windows is a 32-bit system, then the registry location is a bit different (than the one shown in the video):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Sims

After you've done that, please re-do the steps from #2 to #4 here:

hi good day, this is my first time downloading the sims 3 and i also got the sims 3 university life , i downloaded the fix also,,, the base game is working well but the university life is asking to update and i dont know if i shuld update it,, can i please get some help as to how to go about it so that both games work
