Origin and sims 4 Empty Origin and sims 4

Post by Guest Thu 04 Sep 2014, 10:17

Hi.
Just wondering about Sims 4 and how things work with that.
If you install Sims 4 and have it on your computer, activated by origin, do you need to be online to activate it again if you ever need to reinstall for any reason or will it know the game offline?

For the moment I've been able to play only online, but that's because the game wasn't release yet. Now that it is, I gave it a try and if I recall correctly, I can play offline. You really need the online part only for the first download and the activation process.

Hello,

Yes, the official The Sims 4 website stated that you only need Origin for the game activation.
After that, you can play the game offline just fine.

Thanks, Guys but you still didn't answer my question.
If the game ever crashes, do you need to go back to origin again
and go through the same process?

So ... Origin ... I don't understand that thing ...

I have to be connected each time I open origin ... to launch the game. So ... what's the point to be offline ? Or am I missing something ?

As for your question condor, I'm pretty sure if your need to re-install, you'll need to go thru Origin. At least that seems logical.

As I understand it, you don't need to be connected to open Origin. If you click "Go Offline" it should open just fine (with the Store disabled and the not-downloaded games grayed out) and you can launch The Sims 4 from the client without going online. Smile

More than likely.
But im just going off of my experience with origin through the sims 3.
If i didnt back up my game or anything, I would have to uninstall and reinstall everything. The game and the patches.

Considering the game hasnt been released on the site yet, there isnt alot of knowledge about it yet.
So bear with us, please.
But we will definitely take a look into it for you and when the information becomes available, it will be presented to you.
