Sims 3 Generations/Town life stuff ultimate fix problems. [SOLVED]

First, I would like to thank g4tw for providing these games.

However, I seem to be having a problem while installing the Ultimate fix. When I go to copy the files (not the crack!) into generations or town life, I don't get a 'replace' option for TS3W and TSLHost.dll in generations, or for TS3W in the town life stuff. The files aren't in the bin folder. Should I place the files from the Ultimate fix into the games bin folder anyway, or not mess with it?

I did read the instructions, both here on the forum and the file included with the ultimate fix. I know the crack needs to go in the Sims 3 folders, not Generations/town life/what-have-you. I've tried to find a solution by looking through the forums, but I didn't see anything with an answer to this question.

Is there a problem if I don't install the expansions in a specific order?for ex is there a problem if I instal generations before World adv?

I am obviously incompetent. For here I am with more questions.

After trying to update everything like it said in the Ultimate Fix instructions, I got an error that said the update was for the wrong region. When installing, is there a certain region I should have put? I believe I put United States when installing the base game. The launcher also seemed to think I didn't have Town Life stuff installed, when it was the first expansion I installed after the base game.

So, I've uninstalled everything. I'm re-extracting everything with winrar (which I didn't use the first time, but it seemed like everything extracted ok because everything seemed to install properly. I hadn't realized until trying to find solutions that we should use winrar.) And then off to try installing everything again. And maybe this time it will work. *crosses fingers*

Also- I know that when I installed either generations or town life, it updated my Sims 3 to a newer version- so when I tried to install Outdoor Stuff, and followed
the install instructions it said to update... But it would have 'updated' to a previous version, and I needed to uninstall the newer version. So I just ignored that part of the instructions, and it seemed to install fine. But like I said, the update in the launcher didn't install. Would this have had anything to do with it?

Well, actually the region error is caused by a change in the registry.
Please go to this location in your registry: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t177-can-t-find-the-sims-3-sku-fix

Double-click on the icon called "SKU" and change its number to "2".
Which number does it show now?

After reinstalling the games, I did not get the region error. (I caused that myself, the first time around. I know now what I did. ^^

Instead, I'm getting an invalid file found when running the update. I followed the fix, so I'm not sure what is wrong. I have not cracked any games.

The thing is that on step 3 u say to install any other expansion but skip the crack on WA.What crack?from the expansion itself?or from the instalation FIX pack ?And one more question.In that FIX pack in the instalation guide it says to replace all the files from there with the corespondent ones.but for WA and Generations the files must be put in the same place.(The SIms 3/Bin).It is correct?or should I just put the files only from generations?because it's the most recent.

And btw...It happened to me exactly the same thing like PIE.I followed the steps but then i received the error with the region and then the invalid file.

I don't know what to do.I installed all the expansions exactly as in the guide.I replaced the files from the Fix and when i try to update-it i receive the same fucking error INVALID FILE.I just don;t know what I;'m doing wrong.

BUt one question...the fix is for the patch 1.24?because this is the patch that to update to.

@bianca- WA -does not- go into the same place as generations. WA files go into the world adventure folder.

It's Sims 3, then Generations, then Town Life files that go into Sims 3\Game\bin. So if you put World adventures there, that might be part of the problem.

In other news, I still can't figure out what went wrong. I'm going to re-apply the fix, just in case I messed up, though I don't think I did.

yeah...i know pie...i didn't do that.here is what i did exactly.i installed all the games without using any crack so far.then i followed the Fix guide.so i replaced the files from base game,generations and town life stuff with the ones from the sims 3/bin.and then the other ones in their corespondent folder.this is what it says in the guide.am i wrong?and it still won't work.

After looking at another topic, and looking at my launcher, it seems that my launcher seems to think that 'Town Life Stuff' is not installed, even though it is. And I think Town Life is needed to get the update.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing it, but that didn't work. I also tried not putting in the Town life file fix (as the launcher said it is not installed). And that did not work. I'm not quite sure what to do.

I did. It didn't work. The launcher still thinks it is not installed.

i followed it by letter...the thing is i read on another topic which i can't find it again,that someone that had exactly the same problem as me...managed to solve it.but it didn;t say what he did.admin said that the problem was smth with the wrong files in the correct folders...can i talk to someone on the chatbox?

I thought we weren't supposed to crack anything until we had updated everything?

(But yes, those fix files did go into the Sims 3 bin, not Town life or Generations)
