Impossible APB. [SOLVED]

Hello, I have a problem that makes my sim's career improvment impossible.
My sim's name is Lucy. Lucy is a detective at the police.
Lucy was sent to a crime scene, where she collected evidences and witnesses reports.
She got back to the police building, analized the samples and discovered clues.
She has everything she has to know about the suspect, so she went to issue an APB.
That's all nice and rainbows, until she was sent to the place the suspect was supposed to be at.
I have outdoor retreat installed, and guess where was the suspect?
That's right. At the woods.
Now how in heaven I'm supposed to find somebody in this huge map?
Every sim that passed by Lucy said the same thing: I havn't seen this sim.
Nobody could hint me towards the suspect, because this map is just huge!
There are cabins, the campground and miles and miles of trees!
Lucy got a "terrible work" feedback, and her job performence is not in the green zone anymore.
Is there something I can do? A mod that prevents the game from sending me to Granit Falls?
Something?
I'm afraid to play this saved game because Lucy may lose her job...

That's an interesting problem you describe, and I would definitely test it next time I get to play TS4. For a start: do you know what the "suspect" looks like... ? Does the game provide information on that, or do you really need to hover with the mouse over every single sim ?
Also, what I would have done in that situation is that I check each "sector" of the map one-by-one. If I am in such a sector, I would pause the game and basically move around with the help of my mouse - you can "drag" the separate sectors of a map with your mouse, without actually going with your sim there. That way it should save you time, and make it easier to find the suspect.
But again, these are only thoughts, as I haven't done this myself yet. And no, I don't know a mod for that either.

I do know what the suspect looks like, and I have a notebook full of clues.
The thing is, even when I'm searching on my own while the game is paused,
the suspect is nowhere to be seen. Trust me, I spent an hour trying to do this
by myself. No results. When I switched to live mode again,
he didn't show up either.
Luckily, in the next morning I was sent to a different map to look for him,
much smaller map. The criminal is behind bars now, so that's a relief.
I still don't know what to do if I'll ever be sent to Granit Falls again...
