Sims 4 Mac Install via Wine

I successfully installed Sims 4 on my Mac using Wine to unpack it. It worked smoothly for a month, but now it suddenly is giving me the initialization error, and nothing is working. I've tried deleting everything and re-downloading, but I can't figure out where things went wrong. And now, trying to re-install, I'm not finding the .exe file for Wine to open. It might be an issue with Wine—has anyone used Wine to install on a Mac before?

I've recently installed Sims 4 through wine. Did you make a Wrapper using Wineskin Winery to unpack all of Sims 4's contents? If so, you can locate the .exe within the wrapper, the default location being –

drive c:/ program files / sims 4/

If not then perhaps explain how u 'unpacked' it using wine.

I've had the initialisation error as well, for me it were the graphic settings I chose. I noticed that when I restarted the game after putting the graphic settings too high the error appeared. Sometimes, when the graphics were 'on the egde' the game just froze at the saving screen.

What solved it for me was removing the 'Options.ini' file in the /Documents/Electronics Arts/Sims 4 folder.
