Some Sims bald and naked randomly...

Yesterday, after successfully reinstalling the "Motives Decay" mod (which I had before and caused no problems, just accidentally deleted) when loading the game I got a pop-up saying "items removed".
When I started playing, I found that many characters, including one my Sim's sleepwear, and many townies walking by were missing clothes and hair. While it is sort of funny, it's also a bit frightening to see the neighbors running around in their underwear.

I have no CC installed, and only the one mod that I mentioned. When I tried removing the mod, the changes were still intact (although perhaps that is due to saving the game?) 
This mod hasn't been updated in almost a year, but I really hope that it will work with my game again. I like playing the Sim's at a more relaxed paced, and so this mod has been a lifesaver.

Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Have you tried fixing it by going to a dresser and giving them new outfits?
