Hello all,In the following I am going to show you how to change the in-game display language of "The Sims 4". The first thing for you to find out though, before changing the language is whether your Windows operating system is a 32-bit or 64-bit system. In Windows Vista, 7 & 8, you can go into your Control Panel and look under System -> System information.Once you gathered that information, let's open the "Registry editor". In Windows XP, just press the Windows key + R and type regedit, and then hit enter. In Windows Vista, 7 and 8, it's a good idea to do this with administrative priviledges, just to be safe.
In Windows Vista and 7, open the start menu, and in the search box (on the bottom of the start menu !) type regedit. You can now either right-click on the registry editor logo on top, and choose "run as Administrator". Or you can, after you typed regedit into the search box, just press and hold CTRL + ALT + ENTER.In Windows 8, press the Windows key + Q and type regedit. When the registry logo shows up, right-click on it and choose "run as administrator".
Now, if you have a 32-bit Windows system, navigate to the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Maxis -> The Sims 4. If you have a 64-bit Windows, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Wow6432Node -> Maxis -> The Sims 4.While I'm at it, if you feel unable to determine whether your Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, then simply check BOTH sets of locations. Normally though, you should be able to find out whether your Windows is a 32-bit or 64-bit version.1) For users with a 32-bit Windows system:In the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Maxis -> The Sims 4, focus on the following two registry entries: GDFBinary and Locale.By default (if you downloaded the game from Games4TheWorld) the language will be in English. Hence the details when you double-click on GDFBinary and Locale will look like this:GDFBinary: C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\__Installer\GDFBinary_en_US.dllLocale: en_USSo please double-click on GDFBinary if you haven't done so yet. In GDFBinary, focus on the part in the data string between GDFBinary_ and .dll. You must change that part of the string, according to whatever language you want to be the game in.So let's say you want to be the game in Dutch, so the entry must look like this:C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\__Installer\GDFBinary_nl_NL.dllSee how I highlighted (in red) the part of the line you need to focus on ? You must replace the original en_US with whatever code from another language you want to have. In this example, replace the en_US with nl_NL to get Dutch as the in-game display language. And when you're done, click on OK.Then you also double-click on Locale: edit the value from en_US to nl_NL there.Another example: if you want the game in Spanish, the entry in the GDFBinary will have to look like this:C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\__Installer\GDFBinary_es_ES.dllAnd then change the value of Locale to es_ES too.You can apply the same procedure for all other (available) languages. This is - again - the registry location of the game in a 32-bit Windows system (see bottom left of the screenshot !). You need to click on the folder "The Sims 4", shown in the screenshot with "1", in order for the entries on the right to show up. And then, double-click on GDFBinary and Locale, to change their values accordingly (see above descriptions).In the screenshot, the language was originally English, hence there was the value en_US. I changed both GDFBinary and Locale to the value de_DE (German).2) For users with a 64-bit Windows system:The same as above, but here you you will find the relevant registry entries (GDFBinary and Locale) under a different location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Wow6432Node -> Maxis -> The Sims 4. But everything else is basically the same as what I wrote above.Alternatively, you can also simply use the included registry files, in the download "The Sims 4", from Games4TheWorld. Get it here. Follow the included instructions.*Disclaimer* unfortunately, due to an error on our part, those registry entries only appear to work for 64-bit Windows users. 32-bit Windows users must edit the registry entries manually (see above). We will try to provide 32-bit Windows registry files too, in the near future. Until then we are sorry for any inconveniences.3) If you want to use the 64-bit executable of The Sims 4:As of the "Get together"-update of The Sims 4, you now have the choice of selecting 2 .exe files for starting the game: the TS4.exe and the TS4_x64.exe. The TS4.exe is able to use up to 4GB of your installed RAM in your computer, which should be more than enough to run the game. However, should your computer have more GB of RAM, then feel free to use the TS4_x64.exe to start the game: this executable can use more than 4GB of your total RAM.If you downloaded the Sims 4 games from Games4theworld, and installed the latest Get to Work-update, then your install folder "The Sims 4" will normally be located in C:\Program files (x86). Now, you MUST move this folder "The Sims 4" directly under the following location:C:\Program filesDownload the registry-pack I compiled, from this link here:http://bit.ly/1K5zREGUse WinRAR to unpack the folder inside. Navigate inside the folder, and you should see a bunch of files. Now, depending on which language you want to choose, double-click on the appropriate registry entry and confirm the next two window pop-ups. Finally, navigate to C:\Program files\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. Start the game - from now on - with the TS4_x64.exe. Alternatively, you can of course make a shortcut to the desktop too, from that file.4) End phase:After you changed the registry entries, close the registry editor and start the game. If you have savefiles and other content from the old language, and you want to use that stuff in your new language too, EXIT the game after you get to the main menu (if you don't have savefiles or other stuff, ignore this step and just play on).Navigate to the location (My) Documents/Electronic Arts and you should see two folders with the name "The Sims 4", but in two different languages. Let's say if you had English as the previous language and now you switched to e.g. Spanish, you should see the folders The Sims 4 and Los Sims 4.Copy ALL contents inside the "old" folder, in my example the folder "The Sims 4". And then you PASTE all the contents into your "new" folder, here again Los Sims 4. When prompted, choose "merge this folder with the existing one(s)" and "copy and replace for all files".Now you got your savefiles "transferred" to be ready for the new in-game language. I tried to conentrate all the topics on the subject at the post below:

I also found out, as far I could go, that we'll have two options so far. 64 Bits in English only OR 32 Bits picking your favorite language.
I found an article from EA telling the users to change the language at Origin (and the topic was marked as solved). I tried changing my origin language, I tried going around the entire registry for the "en-US" string. No luck at all. I believe they may be parsing info directly from Origin to the game
Glad people can still use the 32 bits version in their languages, it may not be the case with the next release, since it's a smart way to "break" the pirated versions, as the cracking groups are less likely to research fixes for that, since the game "works" the way it is now and most users who download from us or the most major pirate sites speak English anyway...

Topic moved back to "The Sims 4 Fixes" (PC). As mentioned in the opening post, the fix above only seems to work, if you decide to use the TS4.exe for starting the game, instead of the TS4_x64.exe. At least until further notice.
