"Please insert disk number 1" during The Sims 2 installation - fix.
Hello,
If you try and install expansions/stuffpacks for The Sims 2: The Complete Collection, you may end up with an error saying "please insert disk number 1", and ignoring that message will just abort the installation.
Should that happen to you...
1.) Make sure at first that you extracted the contents of the .RAR download, into a fresh folder. Do NOT attempt to run the installation from within the .RAR. And then, from the extracted content (in the new folder), run these "Autorun.exe" files, as stated in the included instructions.
2.) If you still get the error, please try moving the folder containing the installer (that gives you the error) elsewhere. For instance, if the "University"-expansion installer is giving you the error, then move the whole "University"-subfolder of the download to a different file location. In addition, it could also help to rename the folder containing the installer data, into something different; just change the folder name (many thanks to user @texanroses for sharing the latter hint ! ).
Once you moved the folder elsewhere (and maybe renamed it too), please try resuming the installation from there. Normally, the installation should work smoothly then. Good luck for now !
