Origin is not running
Hi so I've seen this problem listed here in the forum so many times but have never had it... until now. When I go to start my game is tells me that origin is not running. I am thinking it might have to do with my antivirus because my subscription to McAfee expired a week ago which switched me to Windows Defender. I'm just wondering if an important part of the game got deleted..

Hello again,
What is your Windows system ? If it's Windows 7 or 8, then you should be able to actually turn off Windows Defende entirely. If it's Windows 10 however, it might be more tricky, since you either need to configure exclusions there, or need to have an active anti-virus in order for the 'Defender' to stop interfering. See also this lengthy guide here:

If anything got deleted you can remedy that by re-applying the latest DLC items. So re-apply the "Get together" DLC along with the hotfix. I hope though you already have "Get to Work" installed too, since that is necessary before applying "Get together" and the hotfix.
You can also try moving the install folder of The Sims 4 directly under C:\Program files, if you have a 64-bit Windows. Then under Game\Bin, try running the TS4_x64.exe. This particular file seems to be less prone to anti-virus interferences...

So I'm not sure if this is the place to write this, but I had this problem for a couple of days now and nothing helped (pasting new crack, ultimate fix, exception list in AVG (and I am very familiar with AVG) etc..) so I came across the weirdest fix that Carlos mentioned. All I had to do is to move "The Sims 4" folder from c:\program files (x84)\electronic arts to c:\program files (x84)\ and It worked like a charm!
