Sims 4 must update before running
Hi, I have the base game through origin and i was trying to install some expansion packs. I followed all the rules on where to put the folders and such but when i got to open the game a popup occurs. I was just trying to install get to work first and i wanted to run it to see how it was.
I go into origin and then it needs to update as well, so i updated it and replaced the files again and the same error comes up. When i open it in origin i press play, it seems to load or a second but then it stops and i'm able to press play again. So in short it does nothing now.

Simple solution:
Open the folder My Documents - Electronic Arts - The Sims 4
Look for the file GameVersion and open it with Notepad
Change the contents to: 1.13.104.1010 and save the file.
Now start your game.
Note: Every time you update your game via Origin you will get this error again and you will loose all pirated installations.
Edit: The above version is valid after installation of Get Together.

also if i pirated the whole game would i have to uninstall the original
edit: i put in 1.5.139.1020 and it seems to be running; but in the future for the base game to get the pirated version where would i start since i have the expansion packs as well, would i have to reinstall them after getting the pirated base game?

Re: Sims 4 must update before running
Best way is to pirate whole game from here. Look at my previous reply for more informations. Uninstall every legal piece of The Sims 4 and close Origin when running pirated game.
